About Carry Tefsen
Als het aan haar vader had gelegen, had ze nooit op het podium gestaan. Zijn stelling was 'Kunst is mooi, maar niet voor je beroep'. Hij wilde voor zijn dochter geen toekomst als uitgehongerde kunstenaar. Dus werd de jonge Carry kleuterjuf en stond tweeënhalf jaar voor de klas. Maar uiteindelijk moest het toch echt gebeuren: ze nam ontslag en begon als revuedanseres bij de Amsterdamse nachtclub Moulin Rouge. In de jaren daarna groeide ze uit tot een gevierde actrice en musicalster. Ze werkte mee aan klassiekers als Blue Movie en Keetje Tippel, speelde bij het Volkstoneel van Beppie Nooy, in musicals en experimentele theaterstukken, deed aan cabaret en was te zien in commerciële hits als De Jantjes, de André van Duin Show, Zeg 'ns Aaa en 't schaap met de vijf Pooten. Inmiddels is ze al zestig jaar stevig verankerd in de Nederlandse theater- en filmwereld en daarmee een vat vol gouden herinneringen en anekdotes.
