Marian Newman is one of the most inspirational people I have ever met.
When I first met Marian in 1995 she was the leading force and passion
driving the nail industry forward. Her direct approach, never afraid to
question or challenge pre-conceived ideas, has given her an immense
knowledge of the industry. She is recognised today by her peers and the
media as the most influential person in UK nails.
Marian creates many of the beautiful nails that are used on the covers of
fashion magazines; one look at her work and you will soon see why she is so
much in demand from film stars and celebrities all over the world. Marian is
clearly an inspiration who never stops promoting the industry over and
above her own work.

The Complete Nail Technician is a book written by a technician for
technicians; a technician who has experienced, first hand, every aspect of
the job. It provides all the necessary information for those just starting to
learn the skill and also provides a ‘one stop shop’ for experienced
technicians in a vast range of generic information that is often hard to find
as most information is produced by product companies and specifically
relates to their products.
All the National Occupational Standards requirements are included, but
are broken down into a natural progression of learning and reinforcement.
If the book is followed in sequence, the learner will become a proficient
technician. The experienced technician will be able to look up invaluable
information and facts.
The book concentrates on the commercial aspect of the work of a nail
technician and provides the information necessary to provide a good service
for a wide variety of clients. It provides the background, impartial technical
information and practical skills for every service option of nail treatments for
clients while stressing the importance of manicure as a treatment option for
every client.
The nail technician is a profession in its own right and is becoming more
popular all the time. For the right person, i t is rewarding, challenging and
lucrative. The right person is the one who takes the profession seriously and
embarks on a lifetime of learning.
