PREFACE.
All that was necessary by way of introduction to this work
was said in the last volume. The numbering of the pages
has been made to follow on, thereby avoiding the necessity
for distinguishing the volumes in the index references, a
savingoftypeand labourwhich is aconsideration inthe heavy
Index which worksofthis naturerequire. The abstracts here
printed have been made and the proofs corrected from the
original registers by the Rev. Canon Goodall. The laborious
Index is the work of the Rev. C. S. James assisted by Mr
G. H. Millward. An asterisk * against an index reference
indicates that the name occurs more than once on that page.
