It was the first talent Jay had come across that could do something like this.
The only known ability capable of such a feat was
, but even that allowed transformation into only a single race.
Rownak’s talent, however, combines the benefits of multiple races into one.
The number of races he could Transfuse depended on his Talent Mastery Grade, capped at ten. Yet, if chosen wisely, even a few could make a drastic difference.
Jay thought to himself, ‘
’
His gaze shifted slightly.
Jay then took out several
of all five types, ranging from Grade-1 to Grade-3, and handed them over.
he said.
Rownak and Udhay nodded and left.
Jay then made his way toward one of the most spacious training chambers and sat cross-legged at the center before beginning to comprehend the new Innate Talents, starting with Rownak’s.
Being a Grade-9 talent, its mastery progressed faster than most. Still, Jay burned a few
It was wasteful by any normal standard, but Jay didn’t care. With the massive stockpile of
he’d accumulated, these were practically nothing to him.
If anyone from his faction,
, knew how casually he used such resources, they would have left no tears to cry. Many had to save up to afford even one.
Time passed quickly. In just over four and a half hours, Jay reached the Peak of Grade-3 Mastery for both talents, unlocking the first three Innate Exclusive Skills.
He started by examining Udhay’s.

Jay was particularly impressed by the first skill. It was a passive skill and didn’t directly boost any of his stats, yet the benefits it gave to flight were remarkable.
He began to levitate using the new talent. Instantly, the difference was clear, his movements felt smoother, almost effortless.
His body felt light as a feather, and gravity’s pull felt almost nonexistent. It was as if he were gliding through air, weightless yet fully in control of every direction he chose to fly.
It took him a short while to adjust, but with his prior experience in flight, he adapted quickly.
Curious to test the true extent of the ability, Jay exited the underground base and stepped into the open forest clearing above.
With a single thought, he soared into the sky. The ground beneath him exploded with a gust of displaced air, scattering dust and leaves in every direction from where he took off.
The first thing he noticed as he climbed higher was the absence of sound. Normally, breaking the sound barrier would unleash a deafening sonic boom. Yet, there was nothing.
He immediately understood why. The passive effect of
was at work.

With it, the resistance of both gravity and atmosphere no longer affected him.
The air could no longer compress fast enough nor could it react to his passage. The very physics that governed flight; drag, lift, turbulence, all became irrelevant.
Jay sliced through the sky effortlessly, like a blade gliding through still water. The air parted before him, then folded neatly back in place behind, leaving not even a trace of wake.
The sensation was surreal. He didn’t feel like he was flying anymore. It was as though air itself bent open for him to pass through.
But as he accelerated, faint, circular ripples of air began to form around him, distortions of pressure trailing from his limbs and shoulders. Though he no longer experienced drag, the surroundings themselves trembled from the sheer displacement of his movement.
A soft, resonant hum filled the silence, low at first, then deepening into a layered chorus of howls.
It was the
forming around him. With every passing second he spent airborne, the aura’s resonance deepened, until it sounded as if the sky itself were crying out.
Jay winced slightly. The howling sounds carried far, rippling across the dark expanse. For miles, the faint wailing of wind echoed through the night.
he muttered.
Closing his eyes briefly, he exhaled and focused. He guided the aura’s flow inward, experimenting with it as he flew around to reduce the howling sounds.
After some practice, he gradually subdued the wild howls until they became low, steady hums.
he murmured, satisfied.
MJ’s voice crackled faintly in his mind.
Jay smiled faintly.
Considering his Grade-3 mastery, even this performance was remarkable.
Jay was genuinely impressed, especially by how effortlessly he could maneuver through the skies. As for the limited maximum speed, he wasn’t bothered. He had other ways to push it further.
He then activated
, and his flight speed skyrocketed.
With that, the world seemed to stretch outward. His speed leapt sharply: Mach 3, Mach 6, Mach 9, until finally it stabilized at Mach 12.
At an altitude of 10 kilometers, he could see weaving highways and faint clusters of city lights scattered across the land like tiny stars. The clouds below formed pale, drifting islands, and the horizon curved gently in the distance.
Even at Mach 12, his control remained sharp. He could spontaneously change direction, come to a halt, or accelerate again without losing stability.
Jay came to a stop, realizing he had already crossed several cities during his flight tests. Having learned everything he needed to about Udhay’s talent in action, he turned to head back to the base.
But then, a streak of light caught his eye, a comet passing through the dark sky, and a thought struck him.
‘
he called.
Her response came right away.
Jay’s lips curved slightly.
He looked up again, the comet still gliding silently across the heavens.
MJ replied.
Jay adjusted his posture, before accelerating straight upward.
At 20 kilometers altitude, the clouds had vanished beneath him. The sky darkened into deep indigo, and the stars began to pierce through faintly.
Below, the planet had turned into a vast sea of shadow dotted by soft golden specks, cities still alive in the night. Rivers shone like veins of liquid mercury, and the curve of the dark expanse had become more distinct.
At 30 kilometers, he crossed into the upper stratosphere.
The atmosphere was almost gone now. The stars above brightened, while the Earth below grew dimmer, the boundary between the two fading into a soft blur.
At 50 kilometers, the air below formed a faint blue glow around the curved edge of the Earth.
At 80 kilometers, he entered the edge of the mesosphere, where the sky ceased to be blue at all. Only darkness surrounded him now, pierced by the glow of distant stars and the pale radiance of the moon.
Below him, the continents blurred into shadowed silhouettes. The oceans shimmered faintly, catching the silver reflection of the moonlight.
Jay slowed as the
began to falter in the thinning atmosphere.
Higher and higher he rose. The atmosphere thinned, and the dark sky grew still. Each layer of ascent stripped away another piece of the world’s noise until only silence remained.
he thought.
Jay’s upward momentum waned. His body began to drift downward.
‘
Then, with a quick thought, he activated the armor’s second form,
In an instant, the golden-black suit transformed into his full-body armor, the helmet forming in place of the old transparent film. Its V-shaped visor gleamed darkly, giving him a full 360-degree view.
From his back, streams of molten-gold light flowed like stardust, weaving faint shapes of wings that rippled with every movement.
Jay stared into the expanse ahead; the edge of the atmosphere, the beginning of space.
he said under his breath.
When he willed the armor forward, the golden streams flared, and he shot ahead with blinding speed, much faster than before.
With Pseudo-Speed Energy working alongside his armor’s second form, he reached his maximum speed limit at Mach 25.
Before long, he crossed the Kármán line, 100 kilometers above the planet’s surface, the official boundary of space, and officially entered outer space.
Above him, the stars shone brighter than ever before, steady and sharp without a flicker.
The moon looked large and bright, its craters and ridges clearly visible, and its light reflected off the Earth far below.
Jay slowed to a hover. There was no sound. No hum. No vibration. Not even the faintest echo.
It was as though time itself had stopped. He turned slowly, taking in the full expanse of the world he had left behind.
The Earth stretched beneath him, massive and breathtaking. Its surface glowed softly under the moonlight, vast and alive, yet silent. The oceans were deep patches of blue and silver, and the clouds swirled like brushstrokes painted over a blue sphere.
The thin rim of atmosphere glowed faintly turquoise, forming a delicate halo that wrapped the planet like a ribbon of light.
The sight stirred something deep within him. He had seen Earth on maps, in satellite images, and on globes, but seeing it with his own eyes was something else entirely. The sheer scale of it humbled him.
For a long moment, he remained still, floating like stardust, hearing nothing yet seeing everything. In that silence, Jay felt a strange sense of peace, far from all his worries.
