Chapter 347: Shocked Hangover?

As the sun rose over the city of Restara, revealing the modern-day workers commuting to their work—
"HUH!?"
—A horrified shriek resounded from a luxurious apartment complex.
More specifically, coming from Lillian’s apartment.
Lillian, having just awoken from her sleep and being met with an awful hangover, tightly clutched the edges of a neatly handwritten letter that was left on her bedside table.
Lillian stared at her current balance in her account, finding it to be at least 400,000 Semis more than she had previously. And while that was nice and considerate of the Assassin...
"I want my Marionette back...!"
Lillian puffed her cheeks out into a pout and faceplanted into her bed. Then, she went on to roll around while throwing a tantrum like a child who didn’t have her way.
After a few minutes of this, she eventually stopped before clutching the sides of her skull, feeling it throb painfully, irritating her. Her rolling was definitely not helping her.
Lying back in her bed, she stared at her phone. Once she resisted the urge to lazily scroll through her phone, she opened her emails and found a new message inside.
It was from the Student Council.
Now that she and Marionette were members of it, they were going to be tasked with things related to the Academy.
In the game, if you were a member and had a vice rep—or were the vice rep—you would be able to pick between two missions to do with your partner.
"But... It looks like I’m not going to do that." Lillian sighed, drooping over the side of her bed.
Soon, she sat up and sent the Student President a message. As she went off to freshen up and cook herself breakfast, she keenly recalled how another member was without their vice rep as well.
"And in the game, you can join them if your partner is busy."
Lillian tightly clutched the frying pan as she stared down at the sizzling egg. She was rather a fan of the edges being a bit crispy instead of being completely soft.
After cooking up a couple of toasted bread and laying the fried egg on top, she waited for Beatrice’s response.
And it didn’t take long.
Lillian leaned back into her chair after reading that. Then, she couldn’t help but mutter in a curious and slow voice:
"Did Marionette take the train?"
Her face then morphed into a pained one as her head throbbed again.
She slowly crawled back into the kitchen and looked for whatever could suffice as a good home-made remedy for hangovers.

Feeling her nose twitch, she quickly held her left hand over her mouth and let out a high-pitched sneeze—a contrast to her usual low and deep voice.
The sneeze left her startled and even surprised.
’Did... I somehow managed to catch a cold yesterday?’
After a split second of thought, she shook her head. It was impossible with her biological enhancements.
Or could it be... It was the effects of becoming 19?
She breathed a sigh and leaned into her seat. She then turned her eyes to the side and looked out the window.
Her eyes were met with a grand and glorious terrain of seemingly endless grasslands. And it was especially beautiful this early in the morning.
She was currently inside a bullet train VIP room—something her father had fortunately paid for her. However, it was a bother to get out extremely early in the morning.
Her ears twitched at the sounds of the speakers stating which station they were arriving at. And finding that it wasn’t her stop, she sighed:
"This will be a long ride..."
But, she then gave a smile as she looked down.
"At least I won’t be alone."
Looking down, she was met with the sight of a large but soft rabbit plushy—a gift she had both won for and been given by her beloved girlfriend.
And not only that... But it was also covered in the girl’s smell.
Bringing the rabbit closer to her chest—hugging it tightly—she couldn’t help but reminisce about Lillian’s soft body.
She then planted her face into the back of its head, her nose twitching.
She had made sure to transfer enough money for the girl to survive on, if she didn’t have any money to begin with. She had also hoped that Lillian wouldn’t go out with anyone while she wasn’t there.
"Mmm..."
Her right leg slowly bumped up and down at the thought. And a moment later, she began playing with the paws of the rabbit—fidgeting with it.
After a few minutes of this, she stopped and pulled out her phone.
Marionette stared at the phone’s powered-off screen and wondered:
’Should I... Give her a call, right now?’
...
She later shook her head. She shouldn’t be so clingy; she had only just left.
Thinking this, she opened her phone and moved to a music app and opened a custom album.
The cover image featured a black-haired woman and a white-haired girl. This was the selfie she had managed to capture with Lillian while they were doing karaoke.
She smiled slightly, looking at the countless recordings of the songs they did. She then summoned her headphones and closed her eyes, listening to the songs she had managed to record.
She was going to trust that Lillian would heed the request she had written in her letter.
