The next morning, both of them slowly woke up. The first thing he did was ask Fino about the worry he had last night.
The baby dragon still couldnât speak properly, but it could clearly get its meaning across. Fortunately, it turned out that the main food of dragons at birth was the worldâs energy.
For a while, they only feed on the worldâs energy. After realizing this, he let out a sigh of relief, went toward the bath, and dragged Fino with him by force.
But it was obvious the baby dragon didnât like bathing. Still, there was no choice â cleanliness was very important and couldnât be ignored.
After both of them had bathed, Daniel got dressed. At that moment, Ilaris arrived and took Daniel with her to have breakfast.
Rynor was also following behind them.
In fact, there was a restaurant within the Lionheart family grounds. This restaurant was for the ordinary members of the family â those who werenât of the direct noble bloodline â as well as merchants who had come there, and even the subordinates of important figures in the family.
The two of them drew a lot of attention, but no one dared approach them. The news of what had happened to Lorak had spread well enough.
Ilaris let out a sigh of relief that she could finally eat breakfast in peace here. She had expected a bit of trouble, but had forgotten about the deterrence the boy sitting across from her created.
After eating breakfast, they waited outside the restaurant for Andreas. Apparently, there was something he wanted to tell them â more precisely, to Daniel.
It didnât take long, and after a few minutes, he arrived.
"Did you have a good night last night?" Andreas, after greeting the two of them, looked at Daniel with a smirk and asked.
"Depends. I had a special visit," Daniel replied with a mocking smile. The three of them started walking.
"Oh? Did someone bother you? Was it one of my siblings? That bastard Tormyn?" Andreas frowned. From his siblings, such a thing was to be expected.
Even so, he wasnât worried about Daniel. He was more concerned that Daniel might have done something to one of them last night â not that he would be upset, but because it could cause unnecessary trouble.
Daniel laughed and briefly explained the situation.
"So it was Olivia, huh? I see. Thatâs fine. Even though she works for my sister, sheâs actually a good and honest girl. In fact, sheâs too innocent," Andreas laughed as well.
"From the meeting I had with her, I can say sheâs far too naive, and it was clear she was here against her will."
"Well, as I said, she works for my sister Selera. I donât know exactly how she managed to make that girl her subordinate, but Iâve heard some rumors that she made a deal with the Chromal family and borrowed their daughter for a while."
"I see." Daniel fell silent. Up to this point, he already knew part of the story â it wasnât hard to figure out.
But now that it was confirmed, some ideas came to mind.
"Do you think you can find out what kind of deal your sister made with the Chromal family?"
"Hmm, I could investigate. But why? Are you planning to make a better deal with them?" Andreas asked with a smirk.
But he didnât get an answer. That was enough for him to realize his friend really did have such a plan. He didnât complain, though. After all, having Olivia by his side would be a great help.
"Anyway, tell me more about your sister," Daniel changed the subject.
"Besides me, there are three others eligible as heirs: my brother Tormyn, my other brother Lioran, and finally my sister Selera," Andreas said and continued.
"Among all of us, Selera is the most different. Sheâs the most interested in gathering subordinates, and sheâs actually very good at leading them. She always tries to make deals and pull others to her side.
If weâre talking about her individual strength, sheâs definitely not the best â in fact, sheâs the weakest among the four of us. I just recently reached Rank B, but I can still defeat her, even though sheâs been at that rank for about a year now.
Still, we have to admit, among us, sheâs the best when it comes to leadership." Andreas explained.
"I see." Daniel nodded. Many thoughts appeared in his mind, but what caught his attention most was this boyâs advancement to Rank B.
Didnât he say he hadnât challenged the second floor yet? And yet he had reached Rank B? Daniel frowned slightly and looked again at Andreasâs strength level. Still, he could only sense Rank C.
"Youâve challenged the second floor of the tower?"
"Eh? Wellâ"
"Youâd better not lie."
"Well, actually, I did challenge the second floor of the tower," Andreas sighed and admitted.
"Why did you hide it?" Daniel frowned. At first, he thought it was only hidden from him, but with a glance at Ilaris, it seemed she hadnât known either.
"It was necessary. I didnât want anyone to know the truth. I was trying to make myself look like the weakest among all the heirs, so that at the right moment I could use my real strength as a trump card.
The reason I didnât tell even you two was because of that representative my father sent with us. He was watching me closely the whole time and was basically spying on us."
"So you even planned to hide it from your father?" Daniel found that a little foolish. How could anyone hide something like this from a person with that level of power?
"Well, no... my father knows. Itâs impossible to hide anything from him. I only wanted to keep it hidden from that representative, because I felt he was intentionally spying on me. And he was also one of Lioranâs motherâs subordinates."
"So thatâs how it is." Daniel actually smiled. He hadnât expected this.
He wasnât upset at all â on the contrary, he even admired this boy a little. Unlike what he had thought, it seemed Andreas did have some brains.
"So thatâs why you disappeared for about three days back then?" Ilaris suddenly asked, as if she had just remembered something.
Andreas nodded.
"Then why reveal it now? Arenât you afraid someone here might be spying on us?"
"I donât care anymore. If they donât find out, good. If they do, it doesnât matter either â because I have an even better trump card now. You." Andreas laughed.
Daniel sighed and said nothing. He wanted to ask about Selera again, but Andreas suddenly stopped and stared ahead.
The other two also looked forward. A massive crowd had gathered in front of the entrance to a spiral-shaped building that looked somewhat like a Pagoda.
"This is why I wanted to see you today. So, what do you think? Do you want to participate?"
