The trip itself was smooth. Although they got hit by some stray beasts along the way, they didn’t encounter any big problems.
That was why they reached Stergern in just four days.
With Clovis’ help, Jay also recovered during that time.
After following everything on the note, they reached a small town on the outskirts of the country.
"Mhmm..." Kanaria came out of the bus while saying, "So, this is the last place we have to go?"
"According to the instructions, there will be someone here to guide us." Clovis nodded. "Though, I need to remind you I haven’t met her the whole time, so I don’t even know her."
"Still, we are talking about your family here. Or is there any fight within your family that we don’t know about?" Christina asked.
"I don’t know, but..." Clovis abruptly stopped.
Several of them noticed the incoming presence. They all raised their stances to prepare for a fight, but they were all dumbfounded when they saw a familiar face.
They personally never met him, but his face was something they had seen at least once.
"Grand-!" Clovis wanted to call him, but the person had already grabbed him by the shoulders.
"Listen to me. Right now, we are leaving. I can tell you all about it, but don’t meet her. You shouldn’t meet her."
"Grandfather. What’s going on?" Clovis smiled wryly.
Yes, the person who caught him was none other than his grandfather, Michael Hacfield. However, unlike the dignified grandfather in his memory, Michael looked a mess.
He was bleeding all over his body, his clothes were torn. It looked as if he had just gone through numerous battles.
Then again, it might not be entirely wrong. He practically blasted everything on his way to go all the way to this place as soon as possible.
’This is... Michael Hacfield?’ Christina gasped, not expecting that such an old man was the man known as the madman.
’Clovis’ grandfather?’ Kanaria gasped. Even though she was already aware that Michael had been helping them from time to time, they never really met him.
The only person who had met him was Hana, not the Libation Fiesta.
’One of the ten Tier 9 humans in the world, Michael Hacfield...’ Rin didn’t expect to meet such a famous person.
However, the situation immediately shifted when they heard a monotone voice coming from the side.
"That is not fair, Sir Michael."
"!!!" Michael widened his eyes. The rest of the group also turned their heads around and found a maid. Despite her looks, she was already 44 years old.
More importantly, the person who was wearing the maid uniform was actually a Tier 8 human.
She had long black hair tied neatly in a ponytail. She wore a pair of skyglasses that had been personalized so that they couldn’t be tracked while still fetching her data.
"Who are you?" Michael’s eyebrows twitched. In fact, Clovis could feel his grandfather flinching after seeing her.
"Oh my. My apologies. I guess you don’t remember me like this, but how about this?" The maid took off the skyglasses and smiled politely even though her eyes weren’t smiling.
"Maya..." Michael gasped.
"My apologies for not introducing myself to all of you." The maid, who was known as Maya, turned to the dumbfounded Libation Fiesta members. "I am Maya Hereson. I am currently working as the caretaker of Silvia Esferath. However, I used to work as the manager of the late Miss Lily before merging with the Golden Lion to form the Hacfield family."
"!!!" Clovis widened his eyes as he couldn’t help but ask for confirmation. "You were... my grandmother’s manager?"
"Yes, young master." Maya then turned to Michael. "My current master asked me to tell Sir Michael that if he brought the young master away, she would remind him about the night filled with joy in Karein, Malavia, and Renei."
"!!!" Michael felt chills down his spine.
"Is that a threat?" Clovis asked. "Although I’m supposed to be coming here to visit my great-grandmother, whom I just learned about a few days ago, a threat is not a good first impression, right?"
"My apologies if that bothers you, young master." Maya politely bowed. "If you would like to be so kind as to grant your great-grandmother an audience, I would like to ask you to follow me. Of course, the rest of your team as well.
"Sir Michael. She knew you would come here, so she asked you to be present, but it would be okay for you to leave as well."
"..." Michael looked disturbed, but he didn’t accept or reject.
Clovis paused for a moment before nodding his head. "I need to go to my bus. Would you like to come in? Both of you."
"Of course. I’d appreciate it if I could guide you from there."
Clovis turned to the rest of his team members. Although it would be nice to see the beach, he could postpone the sightseeing for the moment.
Everyone entered the bus. For some reason, his grandfather didn’t say anything. He just took his seat and remained silent the whole time, like a docile kid.
Back then, the Dark Supreme told him that only she could control Michael. He didn’t believe it before, but he believes it now.
Whatever the reason was, Michael was definitely scared of his great-grandmother.
Everyone was curious. They tried to imagine what kind of person Clovis’ great-grandmother was. They thought she was a monster for being able to scare Michael.
It took them only several minutes before they reached a certain beach house. The house was half the size of the mansion Hana gave him.
When they arrived, they saw two people waiting for them. The one standing was another maid like Maya, but she didn’t seem to have any power.
However, the one they were supposed to meet was the old lady in the wheelchair. She personally was only a Tier 6 human, her face was aged, but she was still brimming with energy.
As soon as she saw Clovis, her face melted.
Even without anyone’s introduction, Clovis could feel the intimacy between them. There was no doubt that this person was his great-grandmother, Silvia Esferath.
