Clovis simply stared at them, watching the group leave.
The general couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows. At the very least, the worst-case scenario had been avoided. The only problem would be the challenge itself.
The general came to Clovis. "I apologize for all the mess here."
"It is fine." Clovis just nodded, treating it as not a big deal.
"I have heard that you are someone who can easily fight someone above your tier, but after seeing your clash today, my eyes have truly been opened."
"It is bound to happen." Clovis sighed.
"Still, are you going to proceed with the challenge?"
"What’s the government’s stance?"
"If you wish to proceed with the challenge, then we will arrange it to the best of our ability. The only problem is that once there is a challenge like this, I’m afraid that the others will consider it as well."
"They are going to bring multiple challengers to exhaust me?"
"Most likely. And after that clash, they will most likely come with higher-tier challengers. At this rate, you might have to face a Tier 8 human."
Clovis thought for a moment before raising two fingers. "There are two ways of solving this problem. First, announce that this is just a battle between me and Iskandar Anatas. The second way is to create a tournament with me as the final boss."
The general smiled wryly. "You definitely know that the second one is not possible. People will complain."
"Indeed. The best way is to entice them with a reward, but I guess I want to end this farce as quickly as possible."
"That means we should go for the first option." The general thought for a moment. "In that case, the military will have to ask for the official position of the Anatas family."
"Won’t it cause a problem for the government?" Clovis squinted his eyes. If they helped him this way, the Anatas family would be skeptical about the government. Once Iskandar Anatas became a Tier 9 human, he would definitely cause trouble for the government.
"Well, we will handle it when the time comes. In the end, we’re still a single entity. Our government is not that weak either."
Clovis thought for a moment before suggesting a potential way to solve this problem. "So, someone needs to keep them in check as well."
"!!!" The general raised his eyebrows.
Clovis shrugged. "Well, I can ask Hana to create a branch here, can’t I?"
"Hana? Do you mean Hana Skylark?"
"Yes."
The general pondered for a few seconds. "While it’s true that this kind of scenario is possible, I don’t think a mere branch can do anything. Even with the help of the Hatson family, it is still not enough to face a Tier 9 human."
"Do you think the OpenSky Company only handles the inner beast souls?" Clovis smirked.
"!!!" The general definitely didn’t know much, but as a general, he knew that the OpenSky Company originally had two types of businesses. The first was the weapons business, and the second was the aerospace business.
However, Clovis was implying that they had another business that was still hidden. "Well, it is still in the future, so you may come up with a solution sooner or later. With the rapid expansion of the OpenSky Company, it might also make the company unstable. So, I don’t really want to push her too hard unless it’s necessary."
The general let out a long sigh. "You are so caring of your girlfriend. By the way, my granddaughter happens to be 20 years—"
"Ahem!" Kalarn let out a big cough.
The general just looked away without continuing his sentence.
"Either way, if the sparring match is confirmed, I will trouble the general to take care of the time and place."
The general nodded his head. It was definitely the government’s duty to handle it. They had to make sure that the situation didn’t reach a certain level.
"Whether it will escalate or not, I hope that Mr. Clovis has the big heart to move on." The general politely asked.
Clovis shrugged. "It doesn’t matter. Reputation is something good, but I’m not really concerned about my reputation other than slander."
"Don’t worry. We will make sure to handle that part as well."
"Okay then."
"In that case, I will take my leave first."
Clovis nodded as the general took his leave.
Once his car disappeared into the distance, Clovis suddenly placed the tip of his sword on the ground, using it to support his body.
"Haa..."
"Clovis?!" Vina hurriedly came to him, checking his condition. "What happened? Are you injured?"
"I’m exhausted." Clovis sighed. "Not only the mutated deer, but our group also had to handle the mutated human settlement as well."
"What? Mutated humans?" Kalarn gasped. "Now that I think about it, there is indeed a mutated human settlement near that place. If I’m not mistaken, the leader is equal to the deer, which is the reason why the mutated humans can reside there. Don’t tell me..."
Clovis nodded. "They ambushed us. Fortunately, we were able to win. Both the deer and their Tier 7 leader had been killed.
Kalarn took a step back. He simply couldn’t believe it. As a Tier 8 human, he knew how hard it was to kill a Tier 8 beast.
Personally, he would be able to do it, but he still needed a lot of people to take care of the surrounding beasts.
Yet, Clovis led the small Libation Fiesta and was able to obliterate this beast. Not only that, he achieved it despite being ambushed by the mutated humans.
This was equal to fighting two Tier 8 beasts at the same time.
However, looking at Clovis’ offensive power earlier, he somehow could understand if Clovis was able to do it. Nevertheless, it would still require a good commander. "Is there anyone..."
Clovis thought Kalarn was worried about his daughter, considering the scale of the battle. "Some suffer quite heavy injuries, but everyone will be fine after some treatment. We have our doctor as well."
Kalarn nodded and let out a breath of relief. "I understand. Do you need something else?"
"Before that." Vina stopped him and tossed the Global Ghost Order to Kalarn. "This is the payment for the operation this time."
