Christina and Jay immediately headed to the other side of the battlefield. On the way, they found Tianna and Tienna, who almost killed the Tier 6 beast.
Since the situation had become complicated, Christina and Jay had no choice but to intervene directly.
Christina first used her Provoke to gain the attention of the Tier 6 beast, creating a gap for Tianna and Tienna to deal a serious blow.
With their accurate strikes, they broke any defense the beast could make.
Jay swiftly approached the beast and sent its head flying.
They could use the Tier 6 beast to cause chaos, but due to the heavy injury, it wouldn’t do much even to the mutated humans. So, it would be better if they killed it immediately so that Tianna and Tienna could come with them.
Christina was ready to use her Provoke on the remaining beasts to bring them to the mutated humans. Melody had instructed Reolf to do the same thing.
Meanwhile, Luci and Ragna approached Clovis. Their task this time was to protect Clovis from the remaining beasts.
Thanks to Christina, most beasts had been following her, but a few beasts still remained. In addition, the mutated humans might come here. So, it was best for them to remain on Clovis’ side.
Kanaria, on the other hand, moved to a position where she could shoot at either the Tier 7 beast or the mutated humans at any time.
Meanwhile, the Tier 7 deer charged forward.
Clovis leaped up and swung his blade. The clash this time was on a different scale than before. Clovis’ offensive power had reached a whole new level.
The deer tried to ram Clovis with the antlers, trying to launch him to the building behind him. However, Clovis’ sword was actually more powerful than the antler.
That swing actually knocked down the deer’s head. Clovis skillfully threw his short sword, using the chain to pull him to the top of the deer’s head.
Then, he ran toward the deer’s body while dragging his sword. The sharpness of the killing intent sliced through the deer’s tough hide that had been strengthened by the deer’s beast soul.
Before, he barely harmed the deer with his Overlord Slayer, but his Abyss State could actually cut the beast’s hide normally. There were still some restrictions, but they weren’t a problem for Clovis.
The deer let out a pained cry, not expecting Clovis to be this strong. At the same time, it could sense that the killing intent was not endless.
If Clovis continued using this, sooner or later, he might not be able to activate his Abyss State anymore. Or he might even go berserk.
After all, Clovis still couldn’t contain the continuous leak.
What the deer didn’t realize and Clovis should have noticed, was that his killing intent had changed a bit. In his Abyss State, the killing intent of the mutated beast started to show its power. This sharpness wouldn’t have been achieved if Clovis hadn’t killed a single mutated beast.
But thanks to the past few days of hunting, the killing intent had been affected. It was more violent than Mara’s killing intent, but it was also sharper.
The deer shook Clovis off its body as the latter jumped away, activating the beast essence to land on top of one roof smoothly.
Because of Clovis’ power, the deer was completely fixated on him.
When the deer turned to Clovis, Kanaria took advantage of the opportunity to shoot at Clovis. She even instructed Clovis to jump as if to prevent the deer from reacting against her if it didn’t want to be cut by Clovis.
The problem was that she actually shot the deer in the eye.
The deer let out a cry as its body swayed to the left and the right eye was blinded.
Unfortunately, the shot was made at an angle, so it didn’t pierce through the other eye.
Nevertheless, Clovis swung his blade. The deer raised its head to block him with its antlers, but they had become useless.
Clovis swung at the antlers, cutting the entire right part of the antlers from the base. There would be no more protection on the right side, which could be taken advantage of by anyone.
Still, the deer was a Tier 7 mutated beast. It was capable of forcefully kicking its body to the other side so that the body would ram Clovis, blowing him to a building not far from them.
Bang!
"Clovis? Are you OK?" Kanaria asked.
"Yeah, somehow." Clovis’ voice remained calm, which assured her. She didn’t know that he staggered a bit not only because of the damage to his body but also because of the depleted killing intent.
’It looks like I can only last for three more minutes using all this killing intent. I have to end it in one so that I have some to deal with the mutated humans...’ Clovis gulped down. He knew that it was not going to be easy to deal with this level of enemy within one or two minutes, but he might have to be a bit more reckless in this battle.
"Christina has been in contact with the mutated humans. They are as strong as the mutated beasts. They should be fine for the time being." Melody reported.
Clovis took a deep breath before saying, "Kanaria. I need an opening after two strikes. I will finish it on the third attack. As for Melody, you can proceed with the last phase of the bombing. Spare no resources."
"Got it." Melody’s focus had shifted to the mutated humans, so she just trusted Clovis to deal with the deer.
Kanaria, on the other hand, frowned, wondering what Clovis was planning to do. Her finger was on the trigger.
Clovis leaped off the building as if he were about to use his Overlord Slayer from above. The deer felt like Clovis wanted to cut its neck, so the deer chose to sacrifice the other part of the antlers to block this attack.
Unfortunately for the beast, Clovis actually didn’t aim for the neck.
Instead, he tossed the short sword, using the swinging motion that the deer used to protect itself to propel himself to the right side of the beast, which had become the blind spot for this deer.
"First!"
He sent forth the Overlord Slayer to the right foot of the deer.
