Chapter 847: A Guest?

"..." Michael froze after seeing that figure.
Meanwhile, Clovis was walking slowly but surely approaching the elderly woman. He didn’t know what kind of face he should show.
There might not be a need to show it on his face. His gaze might be enough. The tender and gentle gaze reflected the longing.
"Are you... my great-grandma?" Clovis asked in a soft voice.
Silvia smiled. "Yes. Your gaze looks like Lily’s, even though your appearance resembles your grandfather’s."
"..." Clovis didn’t know what he should say. For the past few days, he had been wondering what he should say to her. Now that he was standing before her, all those questions disappeared.
"You don’t have to say anything, darling." Silvia smiled. "Your grandfather simply hid you from me the whole time. It took me so long to finally find you. It’ll be better if we talk inside."
"Mhmm..." Clovis nodded.
Silvia nodded gracefully before looking at Michael, as if telling him, "You too."
Kanaria and the others were confused. Even though the woman was supposed to be someone who could scare the great Michael Hacfield, she didn’t look any different.
In fact, she didn’t give any sense of threat. Sure, compared to them, her strength was similar, but they felt calm when looking at her.
When they entered the mansion, they were led to the dinner room. Silvia could finally take a look at every single one of them.
"So, you only have three?" Silvia asked.
"Three?" Clovis tilted his head in confusion.
Silvia pointed at Kanaria, Christina, and Luci in succession. "Love interest." Then, she continued to Aileen and Erwin before saying the same thing. "Love interest."
He then shifted it to Rin and Melody. "Deep admiration. Respect." Last but not least, Jay and Ragna were considered ’Deep Respect.’
In just a moment, even without saying anything to them, Silvia actually saw through all their relationships. It was truly unexpected.
"Have you investigated my team?" Clovis asked.
"I have checked your team, but I don’t have to investigate your team to figure out your relationship. Once you become wise enough, you will be able to see it." Silvia smiled.
"Well, there is one more person, who is still busy in another country..."
"I know that girl, Hana Skylark." Silvia nodded casually.
"Yes."
Silvia then turned to Kanaria and the others. "Thank you for taking care of my great-grandson this whole time. Please continue to take care of him from now on."
"He’s the one taking care of us." Jay was the one responding instead of Kanaria.
She smiled before shifting her gaze to Michael, who was leaning on the wall while crossing his arms.
"Still, you have finally done a great job of hiding him from me, haven’t you, Mickey?"
"Mic-key?" Clovis and the others were dumbfounded.
"Oi, old hag. Don’t you call me by that name. I have an image to maintain."
"Really?" Silvia chuckled as if she knew it wasn’t true. "Well, I guess I should call you Michael now as a sign of respect. After all, you, who used to only be able to hide something at most for a day, somehow hid your grandson’s existence for over 17 years from me. I should say I’m impressed."
Michael paused for a moment before saying, "You should know our circumstances."
"I know," confirmed Silvia. She turned her head to Clovis. "Don’t blame your grandfather for hiding my existence. The Hacfield family name alone will cause you huge trouble. If you are somewhere near me, I don’t know if you can ever become this big."
"Why is that? From what I have heard, you are the one controlling information, great-grandma?" Clovis asked. He indirectly told her that he knew Steven, but he didn’t go deeper than that.
Silvia smiled. "Because officially, I’m already dead."
"..." Clovis frowned.
"You don’t believe it, do you? I ’died’ during a transport and disappeared from this world to create the intelligence network of the Hacfield family.
"But thanks to it, no one knows that I’m still operating right now. If you bear that name but are not strong enough to protect yourself, people will come after you. And if they find out that I’m still alive, they will come after us together.
"That’s why your grandfather hid your existence this whole time, and I didn’t blame him for doing it."
Clovis scratched the back of his head. This was the first time he knew the reason his grandfather had erased his family name.
It was to protect himself. He also asked the Dark Moon Mercenary to protect him in secret. Although they had never appeared, it was enough to ensure that the former enemies of the Hacfield family would never intervene.
Clovis wanted to say something, but his grandfather suddenly turned his head to the side as if he sensed something.
"Old... I mean, Mother. You look like you have a guest. Are you so busy that you are inviting a guest when your great-grandson pays you a visit?" Michael asked.
Not long after, Maya entered the room and whispered something.
Silvia whispered back the arrangement. Once Maya left, Silvia said, "Looks like I have a guest, but it might concern you as well."
’’What are you talking about?"
"The one who is visiting us is the local mayor. His family has been the mayors for the last three generations. His connection is quite vast, but..."
"But?" Michael frowned.
"It looks like they have an improper thought without knowing their ability."
Michael’s voice became cold. "Do you need me to deal with them?"
"You should know I don’t need your help, but if you still want to help. How about going to the archive room and grabbing me a file marked as AD-002? You know the room."
"Fine." Michael nodded and exited the room.
"Do we need to leave?" Clovis asked, wondering what was going on. "If we disturb you, we can always leave."
"No, darling." Silvia smiled. "You just have to watch the show. I will forgive them if they don’t bring anything important here, but we will see."
Maya soon opened the door as she guided three people inside. The first one was an old man in his sixties. He gave off the same level of threat as the Tier 8 beast they previously fought.
The second one was a dignified middle-aged man. He seemed to be the current mayor that Silvia mentioned.
The last one was a young lady. She had a graceful aura and a beautiful face, but for some reason, Silvia’s eyes were cold for a split second.
Those three didn’t notice it because she didn’t turn her face around, but Clovis, who was in front of her, caught a glimpse of that coldness.
It looked like there was something going on with them.
