Once they exited, Clovis immediately asked, "Can you get me the data on the beasts within the forest?"
"Sure." Melody nodded. "Do you have anything in mind?"
"I want someone who is tricky to deal with. Well, I should look at them first. Just get me everything."
"It shouldn’t be hard." Melody snapped her fingers as she had understood the assignment.
"In that case, I’ll get some food. What do you want to eat?" Clovis asked.
"Just get me some good noodles and cola."
"Got it." Clovis waved his hand. "Rea. Take care. We will be having a new family member soon."
Rea spread her wings before nodding her head.
"Take care of Melody." Clovis waved his hand as he left the room.
If Melody asked whether he had won his gamble or not, he would certainly say no. However, he didn’t lose as well.
The result of the gamble just made the situation trickier. It was true that a new beast could help, but he could only get another Tier 6 beast.
Reolf and Rea were already pretty close to Tier 7 since their growth was not related to the essence but to the pet food from the mall.
But even with all that, the new beast wouldn’t be able to catch up to them anytime soon.
In that case, Clovis wanted something tricky. If he could complicate the battlefield, he might be able to find a gap to exploit.
’This might be the hardest mission I have ever taken.’ Clovis scratched the back of his head. ’Normally, I can come up with one plan or two, but I can’t think of anything right now.’
Clovis let out a long sigh. While walking, he called Hana.
"How is it? Is it useful?" Hana asked.
"A little bit. I was lucky, but not in a way that would help me handle the current mission."
"It looks like the trouble is harder than I thought." Hana paused for a moment. "Need my help?"
"No. I will think of another way. I think I’m lacking one or two more cards to be able to fix this mess. But I still don’t know what cards I need yet."
"Hmm..." Hana thought for a moment. "Shouldn’t you talk with the military? They might be able to help you."
"That’s true, but I don’t really want to owe them."
"True." Hana remembered the fact that she couldn’t expand overseas because the military stopped her. If not for the fact she owed them, she would have expanded aggressively.
It wasn’t good to owe them. Hana thought for a moment before raising one finger. "How about bringing in an outside force? One that people don’t know about. Do you have something like that?"
Clovis looked down, contemplating. He had several connections, such as the Dark Moon Mercenary, the Three Swords, the Hatson family, and Curea. Curea had helped by sending some helpers to stabilize the hunt for their group.
The Hatson family must have done their part as well.
However, the Dark Moon Mercenary couldn’t be moved for the time being.
So, that left the Three Swords. The Three Swords were a powerful group, but this wouldn’t be a good time to ask for their help.
However, thanks to her, Clovis could see one more potential helper. They were not exactly allies, but they were not really enemies as well.
"I think I’ve got an idea. Thank you, Hana."
"That’s good then. If you need anything else, just call me."
"Mhmm." Clovis hung up the call. There was one influence that could become one of the cards he needed.
And he had to call the person who could lead him to them.
"Clovis? Is something going on there?"
"Nope. Everything is fine here. How about your side?"
"Nothing big happens. There’s nothing good enough to report yet, so why do you call me?"
"I need you to connect me to Stefany."
"!!!" Vina definitely didn’t expect the request. Stefany had a lot of connections, so it wouldn’t be bad to ask Stefany.
This would be a perfect time for Stefany to repay Clovis for not destroying her reputation and even sparing her life.
"Sure. Let me give you the burner phone. Share location."
Clovis immediately shared the location of the hotel as he immediately returned after buying some food.
It didn’t take too long for Vina to arrive. No, it took longer since Vina had to make sure no one followed her, especially the prophet’s subordinates.
"This is the phone. Now, I’m curious. What do you want to ask? Stefany might have a lot of connections, but the Three Swords have been captured by you. Is there any point in asking her anymore? Currently, she doesn’t have any fighting strength except the Libation Fiesta."
Clovis shook his head. "There is one. They’re not an ally though. Well, you can say it’s a rival."
"!!!" Vina could think of one organization. "Don’t tell me..."
"There’s something I want to confirm. Have you told her about the thing we discussed before?"
Vina nodded her head, knowing it was the matter of her inheriting the Stel Neven Archive.
"You don’t mind, right?" Clovis asked.
"Does that mean you have accepted my proposal?" Vina asked. If yes, there was no need to hide it from Melody.
"Let’s say I will consider it positively."
It wasn’t the best answer, but not the worst either. After a bit of thought, she nodded. "Fine."
Melody tilted her head in confusion. "Who are we talking about? Have we encountered them before?"
"Well..." Clovis put his finger to his mouth, asking her to stop for a moment as the call was getting connected.
"Hello. What do you want, Vina?"
"It’s me."
"Clovis?" Stefany’s voice sounded surprised, since she thought Vina would pass all the messages from Clovis.
Stefany asked, "What do you want?"
"I heard from Vina about leaving the Dark Moon Mercenary and making you the head of the Dark Supreme."
"!!!" Stefany fell silent for a few seconds. "So?"
"If that is going to happen, how about showing your worth?"
"Does that mean the Libation Fiesta will support me from this point onward?"
"If you can show me your capability, that is."
"All right. I will give you what you want, so tell me."
"Use everything you have at your disposal and get R.A.I.D. for me."
"!!!"
