Chapter 848 848: Silvia Esferath

"Well, to think that someone as busy as you has time to find an old woman like me." Silvia smiled.
The former mayor, Harrison, smiled. "How can you call yourself an old woman, Madam? You are Madam Silvia. Of course, I will have time for you."
Silvia smiled. "Oh my. You know your way with words. Unfortunately, today I have guests, so if you don't mind, I will attend to you another day."
Harrison nodded. "Of course. You once told me that your family would come to this place sooner or later. After knowing that they finally came here, I can't stop myself from congratulating you."
"Thank you." Silvia didn't continue, indirectly implying that he should leave.
Unfortunately, Harrison took a step forward while saying, "Still, to think that the family you mentioned to me turned out to be the Hacfield family. This is truly surprising."
"You can be as surprised as you want, but you should understand why I never mention it."
"Of course. I know that Madam Silvia has never lied. You just never told people the whole truth." Harrison nodded. "Oh. I apologize. I have come here to bring these two people with me.
"You should have met him, the current mayor, as well as my son, Andrew. And this is his daughter, Elizabeth. Greet her."
The current mayor, Andrew, politely bowed his head. "It's an honor to meet you, Madam Silvia."
Elizabeth followed suit.
Silvia just nodded with a smile without saying anything. Normally, people would say a praise or two, such as, 'A polite son.'
However, Silvia didn't say anything, which was noticed by Clovis. It was different from how she treated her.
He wondered whether her relationship with the former mayor was bad or if there was something else. After all, he recalled Silvia asking Michael to fetch something.
"Now that you have given your greeting…" Silvia extended her hand, as if telling Harrison to just bring them back because she had guests.
Harrison smiled before saying, "Ahem, Madam Silvia. I remembered you promised me something."
"Harrison. I will give you my advice. Don't get greedy." Silvia warned in a calm tone.
Harrison was bewildered. Silvia wasn't someone who would lie, let alone break a promise.
"I am not greedy, Madam. Look at Elizabeth. She is already Tier 6 at 21 years old. She also has a pseudo unique ability."
"I warn you one more time, Harrison. I am not a patient woman. Warning you for the second time is the same as giving you face." Silvia's tone gradually turned chilly.
"I…" Before Harrison could say something else, Michael returned to the room while saying, "Well, you are 1 year, 2 months, and 5 days late for that."
"!!!" Harrison turned around and saw the infamous Michael Hacfield. "Well, this is an honor. I never expected the great Michael Hacfield would be here as well."
Michael just shrugged while holding a file in his hand. Instead of Silvia, he gave that file to Clovis instead.
Clovis was confused at first, but when he opened the file, he finally understood what was going on. He couldn't help but turn his head to Silvia, asking for an explanation.
Michael whispered, "From the looks of it, it appears she has been trying to match you with someone. Like I did with Christina.
"Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be proceeding according to the original plan. If it were you, what would you do after getting this file?"
Clovis was confused for a moment before muttering, "I will just send them away?"
"And that's why you are too soft for this. You think too much, like about the consequences and the aftermath. People call me the 'Madman,' but compared to your great-grandmother, I'm like a baby." Michael snatched the file again and handed it to Silvia. He then continued, "Now, you will see why I call her 'devil.'"
Clovis looked at the file. If it were up to him, he would have called Harrison and shown it to make him back away and just treated the promise as nonexistent.
Of course, that would also mean Harrison got some punishment, and he had no choice but to compensate him.
It would be better not to make an enemy of the mayor. This was one of the three major cities in the country. Harrison's family must have a lot of experts, including Tier 8 humans. Harrison himself was a Tier 8 human.
However, Clovis could finally see his great-grandmother in action.
"Oh, Harrison. I have warned you twice, and you chose to push your own luck."
"Pardon?" Harrison frowned. "I don't understand what you're talking about."
Silvia slid the file to the other side of the table so that Harrison wasn't the only one seeing it. Andrew and Elizabeth could see it too.
It was a picture of Elizabeth entering a hotel with someone else.
*Thud!*
The moment Harrison saw the photo, his heart dropped to the ground.
"Do you have anything to say?" Silvia asked with a cold tone. "Let me answer this for you. I acknowledge my mistake, and I shall depart from this country with my entire family so that you will never meet me again."
"Grandfather…" Elizabeth's face turned pale.
"You…" Andrew slapped his daughter so hard that she fell to the ground.
Michael whispered, "Your great-grandmother's policy is not 'I will dig up your dirt and shove it in your face.' Her policy is 'I have the gun pointed at your head. I just chose not to pull the trigger yet.'"
"Oh, by the way, all the dirt on your family has been arranged to be publicized in one day. No matter how much control you have in this country… Even if you are the president who can control the media or even the court, there are plenty of people who are willing to kill you now that everything is out.
"Let me predict. Several families will probably join hands, and before you know it, you will be surrounded by many Tier 8 humans. Oh, I almost forgot. The two Tier 8 humans your family has, they are going to turn their back on you right now. I do have some dirt on them as well."
When Silvia saw Harrison's furious face, she smiled at Michael. "Look at that threatening face, son. Are you not going to protect me?"
"I will beat anyone who wants to harm you, Mother." Michael smiled.
Clovis was completely speechless. It was no wonder his grandfather called her 'devil.' She actually chopped the entire family into pieces, then informed the others to become her executioners, and used scandals to erase their good image. It was to the point that even if they were found dead one day later, people would simply say, 'Serve them right.'
