The clashes continued for more than twenty minutes with no sign of anyone admitting defeat.
"Huu..." Iskandar was frustrated because he still couldn’t break Clovis’ defense. There were some injuries on his body, but they were superficial. In fact, Clovis’ injury was healing at a fairly high speed, as if he had a Heart Affinity.
At the same time, his injuries couldn’t be ignored either. Clovis not only managed to withstand his power, but he could also fight back.
It was no wonder Clovis said he had enough confidence that he could win against him without his beasts.
If he fought his beasts, the victory might be decided fairly quickly. Even though both of them possessed unique abilities, Iskandar didn’t know why Clovis was more powerful than him.
It wasn’t supposed to go like this. If he lost, he would be an embarrassment, even more than Tesron. After all, the gap between Iskandar and Clovis should be bigger than the gap between Tesron and Clovis back then.
He couldn’t admit defeat, but he still couldn’t find a way to defeat Clovis. All he could do was continue this engagement and exhaust Clovis.
After all, Clovis was still a Tier 6 human. Even if he had this kind of strength, his stamina should still be lower than his.
Clovis was aware of this as well. He had been using his killing intent to the maximum the whole time, so it was quite tiring to keep up. If he released them like when he fought the deer, he could probably only last five more minutes.
Fortunately, thanks to Christina, he was able to contain it. If Iskandar wanted to, he could endure for another thirty minutes.
However, a battle of attrition was not his style. All the opponents he had fought would die before he got exhausted. No, it was much more accurate to say that he didn’t mind exhausting everything as long as he could defeat his opponent.
This battle would be the same.
"Huu..." Clovis exhaled a long breath. ’I don’t have a lot of trump cards that I can show. It’s not like I can show my drugs or food. Other people shouldn’t learn about the existence of my Another World Mall yet.
’But to defeat Iskandar, I need something special. Is there anything I can do? Even with my speed and power, he doesn’t leave any gaps. I should increase my speed, but he should be able to keep up.
’In that case, should I increase my power? But his specialty is in power... can I actually do it? No, wait. He is a human, not a beast or a building, right?’
Clovis almost forgot about this. He had sealed his ranged attack when he coated his killing intent on his blade because he couldn’t send it forward like Mara yet.
At best, he could only release it for one or two meters before it disappeared.
If it were the mutated deer, it should have no problem surviving that kind of strike. However, his opponent was a human. His height wasn’t even two meters, let alone his arms or legs.
In other words, the ranged attack should be functional on him.
Still, this move would drain his killing intent as he had to release it, but it wasn’t like he had any other ideas.
’Should I do it? It’s better than nothing, I guess...’ Clovis took a deep breath.
"!!!" Iskandar noticed the killing intent on his sword was fluctuating. If it was weakening, he would think this was a chance, but the killing intent was rising to a level that his instinct considered a threat.
"Not good." Iskandar rushed to Clovis, not letting him have any chance to prepare.
Clovis raised his sword and swung it downward.
Iskandar’s expression changed. Clovis actually swung his blade too early. At this rate, he could simply halt his movement to avoid it.
However, his instinct was telling him that he was in a much more dangerous position than he originally had been.
"Kh." Iskandar didn’t know what was going on, so he punched forward.
Surprisingly, he felt a resistance, which showed what had actually happened. His instinct was telling him about the ranged attack from Clovis.
"Haaa!" Iskandar roared and produced the four bursts to destroy this power. Even though he struggled for two seconds, he succeeded in dispersing this power. His punch was even continuing to Clovis.
But what happened next bewildered him. A cut suddenly appeared on the gap between his middle finger and his index finger where the sword strike had hit earlier.
The wound deepened and went all the way to the middle of his palm.
"Aaaahhhhh!" Iskandar screamed in pain.
The people dropped their jaws. The balance had been broken.
Rose shouted, "It’s broken. Has the fight turned in Clovis’ favor?"
General Halcom squinted his eyes, raising his guard. He had to make the correct decision. If he didn’t make a move at the correct time, one of them might end up disabled.
Fortunately, the injury could be treated without any lasting effect. Besides, the gauntlet had absorbed most of the damage. Without it, it might not just be his palm. That cut might go all the way to his upper arm.
’Still, is this a coincidence? The sword strike was dangerous. I could feel that its power was much more than what Clovis had been releasing in the whole match, but did he predict that the gauntlet would be broken? Don’t tell me, he calculated the durability of the gauntlet?’ General Halcom gulped.
Iskandar endured the pain and leaped back to regain his composure. "Khhh..."
’That power... I can’t defeat it.’ Iskandar realized that his four bursts couldn’t handle this level of power, but admitting defeat here would be the same as humiliating himself.
"Haaaa." Iskandar became desperate and plunged himself at Clovis.
Clovis didn’t know what his plan was, but if he was going to come straightforwardly, there was no way he would avoid the confrontation.
’One more time.’ Clovis stepped forward and swung his blade.
Iskandar’s eyes turned bloodshot as he stomped the ground as if he were trying to halt his movement and used that stomp to channel the energy from his lower body to the upper body before punching Clovis.
"!!!" It was Clovis’ turn to be surprised. ’This power...’
