Clovis ultimately spent 2 days with his great-grandmother. Although he didn’t want to part with her, there was no other choice.
The moment her position was known, she had to leave and disappear one more time. So, Clovis had no choice but to leave her after spending some time with her.
This trip was definitely beyond his wildest imagination. He never thought that the one controlling Steven was his great-grandmother the whole time.
He learned a lot of conspiracies behind it, including the relationship with Matthew.
But the most important thing he learned was the information about the seven towers. This information was definitely related to his ultimate goal, which was to figure out the world.
"Great-grandma. I’m sorry that I’m unable to accompany you." Clovis was on his knees, holding Silvia’s hands.
"Your kindness truly reminds me of Lily." Silvia smiled. "Don’t worry. I will be fine. Don’t forget that I’ll always be watching you."
Clovis nodded before raising his head. "Maya. Please take care of her."
"Of course, young master." Maya nodded with a calm expression. It was her job to begin with, nothing had changed.
Clovis stood up and walked to the bus while waving his hand. There were a lot of things he wanted to say to her, but there was simply no more time.
Tears couldn’t help but fall from the corners of her eyes. "He might have a similar appearance to Michael, but I could always see Lily there..."
"Indeed." Maya closed her eyes. She didn’t let out any tears, but that was because she was doing everything she could to hold back.
"To make sure what happened in the past won’t happen again in the future, we have to make our preparations. I’m counting on your help, Maya."
"Yes, Madam." Maya nodded with a serious expression.
...
Meanwhile, Clovis stood in front of the bus while saying, "I’m sure that you are aware of what is going on right now, but I’m going to tell you again.
"I’m aiming to become the best explorer in the world, and I shall discover the truth about this world. And to do that, the seven towers have to be explored. It might contain clues about this world.
"However, I have to warn you that if you walk on this path, you will find yourself in danger. The Prophet is the current target, and he was able to convince several powerful world leaders to hide that fact. So, we might end up going against the world.
"Even after knowing that, would you still walk this path with me?"
There wasn’t silence because Reolf and Rea simply answered without hesitation. They let out a small cry and a bark to show their approval.
Jay simply chuckled as if his answer remained the same. "My answer remains the same. I have prepared myself ever since you told me that you wanted to become the greatest explorer in the world. Of course, I’m in, Captain."
Kanaria nodded with a serious expression. "You realize my dream, but one base is not enough. I want to make bases, a lot of bases... and it will be even more amazing to make bases all around the world. I’m in, both as a member of the Libation Fiesta and as your partner." She even made a small ’heart’ with her two fingers to make a point.
"Well, I can’t really ignore that claim, Kanaria." Christina stood up. "I’m his partner too. Besides, my family is already big, so becoming bigger is the same thing. Besides, I’m kind of curious about this world as well."
Luci raised her hand. "Me too. More importantly, restricted areas mean unknown beasts, right? I can’t help but be curious as to whether their essence will be beneficial or not. Maybe I will etch my name into history as the miracle doctor..."
"Unknown beasts? Indeed." Rin nodded with a serious expression. "Surpassing my father by bringing unknown beasts from the restricted areas, I guess he won’t have any complaints after this."
Ragna smiled. "Captain. I told you before. You fixed my weakness, and I will serve you for the rest of my life. If you want me to go, I will go."
"Can we have a honeymoon on those seven towers?" Erwin raised his hand.
Clovis was a bit speechless, but he ultimately nodded his head. "Of course."
"Then, we will just clear up those towers and have a honeymoon that no one can replicate. By the way, we’ve got the first dibs on this, okay? You can’t say that you suddenly want to bring your women there before us!" Erwin proudly said, while Aileen nodded her head in agreement.
Clovis smiled wryly. His people were definitely oddballs, but that made him feel more assured.
Last but not least, Melody chuckled before asking, "So, what is our plan now, Captain? I have to record it."
Clovis smiled. "My great-grandmother has promised me that she will give me a clue to these towers, but I have to pass her test first. And that test is still unknown.
"To know about the test, all of us have to become Tier 6 first. In other words, me, Reolf, Rea, Jay, and Kanaria have to reach Tier 6 first. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?"
"I can become Tier 6 tomorrow. I just need a bit of essence. 2% left." Jay nodded.
"I need a bit more, like 5%." Kanaria acknowledged.
Reolf and Rea seemed to be in agreement. They only needed to return home before sleeping. They always evolved during their sleep, so they could do it right away.
"I should only need a week, so let’s find out about the test in a week." Clovis nodded. "For the time being, everyone can do whatever you want. Spend time with your family or anything else."
It looked like they had no qualms about the arrangement. In fact, several of them seemed to be thinking about Tier 7. Currently, the only person who had reached Tier 7 was Christina, but even Christina had a hard time against a Tier 8 beast. So, they had to become Tier 7 if they wanted to stand a chance against even a single Tier 8 beast.
"Also, Rin."
"Yeah?" Rin raised her head.
Clovis took a few accessories out of nowhere before her, which startled her.
"Are you a magician?"
"No, but I guess it’s time to tell you about my unique ability." Clovis nodded and handed her one ring first. "How about putting it on?"
Rin was confused and carefully put it on. Her jaw instantly dropped as she looked at Clovis with a dumbfounded face. "Looks like we have to fix our communication first, don’t you think?"
"We can do that on the way." Clovis smiled.
"But does this mean I have gained your trust?"
"Do I have to spell it out for you?"
Rin smiled as the answer was obvious.
